Ferry Impressive! Gold Coasters Will Boat to Work
Ferry tingly! Feel the wind in your hair and the salt in your face.
Ferry nice! A Gold Coast City ferry could be zooming you to work very soon. Feel the breeze in your hair, people! Because this is the lifestyle we are paying for and expect.
The plan moved a step closer recently with the announcement of 14 stops being investigated for a trial. As a result, those of us stuck in cars feel a little tingly. Consequently, we all want to get this thing on the road.
Ferry operators from across Australia are expected to respond to the City’s expression of interest for a trial service on the Gold Coast. The five-stop ferry route includes: Home of the Arts (HOTA); Appel Park in Surfers Paradise; Marina Mirage at Main Beach; Southport Pier at Broadwater Parklands; and Sea World on The Spit.
Mayor Tom Tate said a trial would provide State Government agencies and the City with vital data about future ferry services. “These 14 stops may not all make it to the trial but it’s really exciting to think that you may be able to get on a ferry at Tipplers to go to an event at the Gold Coast Convention Centre. There’s nothing more Gold Coast than that.
The Gold Coast City ferry could be as popular as the Brisbane River City Cats have been. And, similarly to a proposed Goldie service, a lot of Brisbane people get their hair really messed up on the way to work every day. But what a nice way to get to your job. As an example of how city cats can work in the transport mix, it’s the best example in the state. And if you don’t want crazy ferry hair, you could always sit inside and look at your phone. There seems like so many ways to ferry that you can get to work in any state that you want. Besides, crazy, sea-swept hair is the new black.
